Visiting Poet Juan Morales Coming to PPSC April 3

The Pikes Peak State College English Department is thrilled to share that the amazing poet Juan Morales is coming to PPSC on Friday, April 3, from 4-7 pm at the PPSC Downtown Campus Learning Commons, 100 West Pikes Peak Ave., Colorado Springs.

Juan J. Morales is the son of an Ecuadorian mother and Puerto Rican father and the author of four poetry collections, including Dream of the Bird Tattoo and The Handyman’s Guide to End Times. Morales has received fellowships from CantoMundo, Macondo, Longleaf Writers Conference, and he has served as the editor and publisher of Pilgrimage Press.

The evening will begin with a poetry reading and a writing workshop with Morales, followed by an open mic. Then, we’ll have a reception with food courtesy of the Latino Alliance and tables for local authors.

Several members of the Nearby Universe, including M.R. Hyde and Brook Bhagat, will be reading their work and signing books. The event (and food!) is free and open to the public. Please join us!
