As group facilitator, Brook Bhagat tries to cast a wide net with her monthly email to all PPCC employees, inviting them to the group workshops. One of the goals of the group is to provide motivation for writers with busy lives; Brook looks at these emails as opportunities for creative writing. She tries to entice potential new members with funny poems or flash fiction, and has several times been able to repurpose this material, polishing and marketing it for publication.
“Inkling of Jackals,” published on A Story in 100 Words in August 2020, began as one of these email invitations to colleagues.
