Candace R. Craig’s creative nonfiction, “Eerie Lake,” was nominated for Best of the Net by the editorial staff of the Great Lakes Review, where the story was recently published. “Eerie Lake” was workshopped twice in The Nearby Universe. In “Eerie Lake,” a fascination with mythological monsters and the tragic drowning of a young classmate unleashes a true horror story about the invasion of sea serpents that once decimated most of the fish populations in all of the Great Lakes above Niagara Falls, bringing about an aquatic apocalypse.
