The 2023 Pikes Peak Poetry Summit is a celebration of poetry held each April in honor of national poetry month. It’s a day full of free poetry and music performances, workshops, an open mic, and more, sponsored by the Pikes Peak Library District and organized by our Pikes Peak Poet Laureate, Ashley Cornelius. This year’s event will be Saturday, April 22 from 8:30 am-4:30 pm at The Hall (formerly KCH), 20 W. Pikes Peak, and the theme is “Art is a Bridge to New Perspectives.” Workshops include How to Rhyme: Songwriting 101 with Dominique Robbins, Poetry, Pop Culture, and Social Justice with Michael Ferguson, Building Community, Building a poem with Poetry Heals, and Becoming Poetry writing workshop. Brook Bhagat will be signing copies of her collection of poetry and flash fiction, Only Flying, at the poetry market there from 11:30-1:00 pm. Last year’s summit was incredible, and this year’s will be too. See more info and sign up for workshops HERE.
